Material Coverage & Weight
Compost is sold by the cubic yard. One scoop on loader is 1 cubic yard.
Gravel is sold by weight. One scoop on loader is approximately 1 ton but material will have to be weighed on scales to determine exact amount loaded. Coverage is approximately 120 square feet @ 2″ depth per ton with exception of lava rock which is 200 square foot per ton.
Mulch is sold by the cubic yard. One scoop in loader is 1 cubic yard. Coverage is approximately 100 square feet @ 3″ depth per cubic yard.
Stone is sold both by the pallet and/or by weight. Pallets will vary from 1 ton to 2 tons per pallet depending on particular type of stone. Any quantity can be purchased.
Topsoil is sold by the cubic yard. One scoop on loader is 1 cubic yard. One cubic yard is approximately 2200 lbs. Coverage will vary depending on application.
Large Boulders – All Boulders are sold by weight and will vary depending on size and density.
Small/Medium Boulders – All Boulders are sold by weight and will vary depending on size and density.
Flagstone(patios/walkways) – 1 ton @ 2″ thick approx.= 100 sq ft (Pallet approx. 1.5 to 2 ton)
Edging – 1 ton of 4″ runs 100 linear feet long. 1 ton of 8″ runs 50 linear ft.
Strip Wall (ledgestone) – 1 ton of 4″ wide builds wall 1′ tall by 30′ – 40′ long.
Landscape Stone (Drystack) – laid horizontally 1 pallet approx. = 1 to 1.5 tons/ 1 ton builds wall 1′ tall by 15′ – 20′ long.
